It was lovely to see such a great attendance at this year’s Stockland Fair on Monday 28th May. We were truly blessed by the weather gods and were grateful for the fresh breeze which helped keep us all cool on a very hot day.
Members of the Management Committee manned their stall, emblazoned with a SCPL banner, throughout the afternoon. Strategically placed next to the ice cream queue on a gorgeously sunny Bank Holiday, it afforded an ideal opportunity to talk to old and new friends of the King’s Arms, and to provide more information about our plans for the pub, and the amazing opportunity we currently have.
We were very pleased to speak with so many interested and passionate people, many of whom had fond memories of the King’s Arms in its heyday. We were also pleased to answer questions from members of the public asking for further information ahead of possible investment.
This is a really crucial stage for SCPL, the local community, and for people everywhere who care about the future of the King’s Arms. We have a one-off opportunity to raise the minimum amount of £260,000 required to purchase the pub, and bring it back into operation as the hub of our village life.
With the huge community effort and amazing spirit on display at the Fair, and during set-up and clean-up, we are very hopeful that we can reach our goal. However, we cannot do this without YOU. If you haven’t already downloaded the Business Plan and Share Offer document, please do so now. If you would prefer a printed version of the documentation, please contact the Secretary of the society on 01404 881833.
We can do this together, but, like the fabulous and successful 2018 Stockland Fair, everyone needs to play their part to SAVE THE PUB.
