Want to help keep the pub at the heart of the village?

Those of you reading this that have lived in the area for a while will remember the sad day when the Kings Arms Inn closed its doors in 2013 and the valiant efforts of the community to purchase the pub, restore the building and finally to re-open in 2020.

Stockland Community Pub Limited (SCPL) is a community benefit society that owns and is custodian of the pub on behalf of the broader community. We own the premises and manage the relationship with our tenants, Ben and the team at the Kings Arms, who have a long-term lease. With over 270 members many of you reading this will already be shareholders and have played an important role in re-establishing the pub at the heart of the village.

To maintain and run SCPL we need continued support and there are two ways in which you can help ensure we get the best out of our collective investment.

Already a member? Then consider standing for the management committee that carries out vital work in the background to ensure we never lose the pub again. Self-Nominations can be made up until 21st January.

Become a member! You may be new to the village or missed the initial share offering.  It costs just £100 to become a member and bring fresh ideas and energy to the society. The more people from the community involved in the stewardship the better and if you wish you can lend your skills and subsequently stand for the management committee. We look forward to hearing from you!
