Those readers who regularly pass through the village will be aware of the activity around the pub as the rethatching progresses and other work is carried out. This week we take a peek behind the scenes and focus on a painstaking project carried out by […]
We are currently renovating the King’s Arms Inn and seeking a tenant to secure its future as a thriving community pub.
Having bought the King’s Arms into community ownership, we are working hard with contractors and local volunteers to get the pub tenant ready. Community ownership will ensure the pub remains the hub of the village for the enjoyment and wellbeing of locals and visitors alike, both now and for future generations to come.
The pub will be a free house that serves local and guest beers and sensibly priced, freshly cooked, good food prepared using locally sourced ingredients.
It will be the heart of the village as a place for social gathering, cultural activities, somewhere to meet people and exchange information, and it will promote a cohesive and friendly community in the area.
It is our intention that the pub will work closely with and in support of the other community facilities and clubs in the area, including in particular the Stockland Victory Hall.
